At Autos of Dallas, we love everything Mercedes-Benz. With the Los Angeles Auto Show in full-swing, we’ve been keeping an eye on the brand (we don’t want to miss anything). This week, the newest member of the SL-Class premiered, causing all eyes to turn to the sleek, new vehicle. The 2017 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class release date is just around the corner, so we figured it would be appropriate to fill you in on some of the juicy details we discovered. 2017 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class engine options
Like we hinted at above, the brand’s newest SL was revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The base model of the 2017 SL sports a 3.0-liter V-6, complete with 362 horsepower and 369 pounds-feet of torque, which is an improvement over the 2015 model. The upper trims of the SL- like the SL550- continue to have the same engine (a 4.7-liter V-8), offering an upwards of 449 horsepower. The Mercedes-AMG SL63 and SL65 also have the same engine (a twin-turbo 5.5-liter V-8 and twin-turbo 6.0-liter V-12), but the power has been upgraded. The SL63’s V-8 offers its driver 577 horsepower, while the SL65’s V-12 offers a whopping 621.

The vehicle is due to hit the market in late spring of 2016, which is a pretty early arrival for a 2017 model.
