Plano Lions Independence Day Parade
WHEN: Thursday, July 4 at 9 a.m.
WHERE: Plano ISD Admin Building to Plano HS on Independence Parkway
Kickstart your Independence Day this summer at the annual Plano Lions Independence Day Parade. With patriotic floats clad in red, white and blue, drill teams, color guards, cheer squads and local marching bands playing your favorite American music, this parade promises to be fun for all ages. The parade will start at the Plano ISD Administrative Building, travel west on 15th Street, north on Independence Parkway and east on Parkhaven Drive to its endpoint at the Plano Senior High School. Make sure to get there early and get a good seat!
Five on the 4th
WHEN: Thursday, July 4 at 8 a.m.
WHERE: Klyde Warren Park – 2012 Woodall Rodgers Fwy Dallas, TX 75201
Lace up your running shoes and join in the fun at the annual Five on the 4th road race! This patriotic-themed, family-friendly event provides runners with four events to choose from – a 5-mile run, a 5K race, a 2-mile walk and a fun kid’s race – that will each take you on a scenic route through Klyde Warren Park. The race will be followed by live music, refreshments, a watermelon eating contest and more fun activities. Participants will receive a race t-shirt and a medal with race proceeds going to the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas.
Arlington 4th of July Parade
WHEN: Thursday, July 4 at 9 a.m.
WHERE: Mitchell Ave. to Spaniolo Dr. to Uta Blvd. to W. South St. to S. Center St. to S. Pecan St.
The oldest and longest-running event in Arlington, the annual Arlington 4th of July Parade is one of the largest Independence Day parades in Texas and fun for all ages and this year’s event will be no different. With more than 75,000 spectators every year, the two-hour parade will feature more than 150 American-themed floats, marching bands, military color guards, classic cars, cheer squads and much more.
