2020 Land Rover Defender Design and Engine Specs

A direct competitor to the Jeep Wrangler, the 2020 Land Rover Defender employs an all-aluminum Land Rover D7x frame with a 119-inch wheelbase and 11.5-inches of ground clearance. To deliver peak performance on the trail, the Land Rover Defender 110 is equipped with a 296-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine married to an eight-speed automatic transmission with the ability to sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 7.7 seconds. Land Rover Defender 90 entries come standard with a 395-horsepower 48-volt mild-hybrid six-cylinder engine that will sprint from zero to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds. When equipped for towing duties, the Land Rover Defender will tow up to 8,200 pounds of cargo with the ability to carry 370 pounds of cargo on the roof.

When adventure calls, the Land Rover Defender will answer. Armed with a full-time 4WD system that employs a Twin-Speed Transfer Box, a Locking Center Differential and an Active Rear and Locking Differential, the Land Rover Defender will conquer even the most extreme terrain. An all-new D7x foundation is the stiffest ever employed by a Land Rover and pairs with Configurable Terrain Response technology to provide you with the ability to customize the performance of your Land Rover Defender. Additional off-road features include Terrain Response® 2 drive modes, All-Terrain Progress Control, ClearSight Ground View and a Wade Sensing Program.

Land Rover Defender entries provide drivers with a choice between five-, six- and seven-passenger seating configurations that include a 5+2 layout with a center jump seat in the front row. A variety of interior finishes will deliver premium luxury at every turn with high-grade Windsor leather upholstery, Miko Suedecloth accents, powder-coated metal accents and rough-cut Walnut or Smoked Dark Oak Veneer. Highlight features of the Land Rover Defender spec sheet include 20-inch wheels, a 10-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a 180-watt sound system.
