How to care for Mercedes-Benz leather seats
If you’ve recently purchased a luxury vehicle – like a Mercedes-Benz – chances are that you may have a leather interior. Whether the leather is on the steering wheel or the seating, it’s important to take good care of it, if you’re wanting it to last for the lifetime of your car. If you’ve been wondering how to care for you leather seating, look no further. We have a few tips that may help you out, and assist you in avoiding disaster. Also, don’t forget to check out our inventory of luxury models!
Tools
One majorly important item to take note of when you’re about to clean your leather is what tools you’re going to use. You could use a rag, but those don’t always get the job done as thoroughly as you might like. We’d suggest getting a brush made especially for vinyl and leather seats. They aren’t costly, and will give you a better clean than just about anything else. Oh – and don’t worry – the brush will not wear down the leather.
Observation
Once you have your brush ready, you might want to take note of how much dirt is on the leather you’re about to clean. This is because different levels of dirt require different levels and tactics when it comes time to clean. If there’s a section of your vehicle that is particularly dirty, be sure to treat it differently than a section that isn’t as dirty. It will make a world of difference in the wear that appears on the steering wheel or seating.
Cleaning Solution
Like we said earlier, very dirty spots of leather need to be treated differently than not-very-dirty spots. When you have a very dirty spot, you should be sure to use a cleaning solution that is meant specifically for cleaning leather – then, you should make sure your ratio of solvent and cleaner is more biased toward the cleaner. Start with a small section, apply the solution, and scrub. If you need to repeat this step, that is okay. For not as dirty spots, you can use a multi-purpose cleaner.
