About BMW iPerformance models
You may be asking yourself this question: what does iPerformance stand for? BMW’s iPerformance technology has made its way into several of the brand’s models (most recently the 330e). The technology allows drivers to choose between three different driving modes- AUTO eDRIVE, MAX eDrive and SAVE BATTERY. The systems enable the vehicle to be at its peak efficiency at any given time.
AUTO eDRIVE is the default mode, and allows the model to utilize both the combustion engine and electric motor when needed. In this mode, pure-electric power up to 50 miles per hour is available.
MAX eDRIVE uses electric power only. The model can drive up to 14 miles and 75 miles per hour, with no emissions released .
SAVE BATTERY mode allows a half-drained battery to be charged by the combustion engine. If over half of the battery is available, the charge level is frozen for future use.
