Tent campgrounds in and near Dallas TX

Summer is an exciting time in the Dallas area, because we get to experience hot, sunny weather just about every day. On the days when it doesn’t get terribly hot, it’s nice to venture out into the great outdoors. While some may not necessarily think rural when thinking about Dallas, there are plenty of tent campgrounds in and near our lovely city in Texas. Chain Campgrounds in Arlington and Caddo Mills

If you want to stay as close to Dallas as possible, then the Dallas Metro KOA Campground of Arlington is a great option. Only 2 miles south of the city, you can find a swimming pool, kitchen and wireless internet in the midst of grass tent sites. Another KOA option can be found at Caddo Mills, which includes places to fish and a game room for entertainment.

Eagle Mountain Lake near Fort Worth

Just west of Fort Worth lies a massive lake which is equipped with the Creek Harbor fish Camp. If you’re looking for a waterfront tent site, complete with canoe rentals, a covered pavilion and a volleyball court, you may want to high-tail it down to Eagle Mountain Lake. It’s bound to be a prime summer destination!

Lake Lewisville Campground near Dallas TX

If you’re looking to get a bit further from Dallas, but not so far that you feel like you’re marooned, Lake Lewisville offers a couple of great campground options. Lake Park Campground offers tent sites, athletic fields, a golf course and more! If you’re looking for a swimming beach, amphitheater, playground and hot shower facilities, then the other side of the lake at Hickory Creek Park is where you’ll want to be.
