It seems like every auto maker is rushing to produce a crossover SUV. The problem with that is the end product of rushing is sloppiness. The word “sloppy” isn’t in the Jaguar lexicon. That shows with the Jaguar E-PACE.
Jaguar consistently outclasses the competition with superior attention to detail and pure quality. When they debuted the E-PACE (the counterpart to the popular F-PACE) back in 2017, other luxury brands had to recalculate and recalibrate what it meant to offer a luxury crossover SUV.
Like many other luxury brands, Jaguar often offers its trims with two different engines variants. The P250 is the less powerful of the two, but it’s still incredibly capable. The P250 has a 246-horsepower 2.0L-turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that puts out 269 ft-lbs of torque. That engine is paired with a 9-speed shiftable automatic transmission. It also comes standard with AWD, an appreciated feature that other automakers usually only offer as an additional feature.
The P300 is the more powerful version of the E-PACE. It comes with tuned 2.0L-turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine that produces 296 horsepower and 295 ft-lbs of torque. This version is also is mated to a 9-speed shiftable automatic transmission. Similarly, it comes with an AWD drivetrain as standard. Another huge deviation from the P250 is that the P300 comes with the R-Dynamic performance-enhancing rear differential.
The E-PACE crossover comes in one of four trims: E-PACE base, S, SE, and HSE. The base model comes with features like automatic wipers, front/rear parking sensors, a rearview camera, lane keeping assist, and forward collision warning with low-speed automatic braking. The S trim improves the upholstery to leather and adds a Wi-Fi hotspot, automated parking, and a surround-view camera. SE gives you automatic high beams, an 11-speaker premium audio system, blind spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. The top-tier HSE has keyless entry, a hands-free liftgate, 18-power seats with memory settings, premium leather upholstery, and a fully digital instrument cluster.
